![]() When I got my third vamp, vamps were given the ball. Who gets the ball When you have 2 vamps it has to be a thrall ball carrier. It’s brilliant for when an opponent fumbles the ball. However afterwards your vamp is at the mercy of whomever they’ve just hypno-ed. Very handy against prehensile tail, and tentacle. I found it was much easier to use in defense, to hypnotize marking players, or players just in the way, to free up other players to where they are needed. The issue I had with BL is the fact you are often injuring your players, which is quite embarrassing. Moving thralls first so to support a vamps play is fairly start forward. I have also found opponents scared *itless by vamps, and will put quite a few players to mark them and block them, which is good to ease the pressure off the ball carrier.īloodlust. I try not to put vampires in cages now, If they are not up the front to receive catches then I put them to the side of the cage to either accept a short pass, or to be a flexible support in addition to the cage. Also if you lose the bloodlust roll, its gonna seriously affect your cage strength. With 2 and sometimes 3 extra tackle zones, it makes hypno-ing a lot harder. But this does not work, if opponents double up their defense (one right behind the other), or if the vamps get completely swarmed. The method was to hypno the front defense so the ball carrier and the back part of the cage could slip through. I think I would sacrifice a reroll for some more thralls.Ĭaging With my two vamp line ups, I started caging with a thrall ball carrier, and the vamps on the front two corners of the cage. This seems better, but I’m not sure I’d use this in a league, as with no back bench, you might be relying on journeymen thralls for the rest the league. You don’t keep a deep back bench for very long.īoth face biters, and the scarlet monkeys started with 3 vamps, 9 thralls, and 5 rerolls. This doesn’t work if the player is blocking strategically, and if there is the possibility of having your whole side decimated within a half. So opponents would use their reroll to counter the double reds, until they had none left to support their plays. Because thrall squishiness, opponents became more reckless in blocking thralls, so keen on injuring players. I was trying to develop a new strategy, called the reroll eater. Squishy gimps starting roster was the same, line up, but for slightly differenty resons than with pasites. Playing as goblins, I Iiked having the concept of the disposable player. It started with 2 vamps 4 rerolls, and 12 thralls. And I learned very quickly that av 7 is gonna get you squished. Starting Rosters After signing up to crunch cup, there was a week before it started. In my vampire v ai games, my thralls were turning into super blood bowl ninjas. Also having av 7 players dont seem to be an issue against the a.i. Before L.E, I was playing as Humans, and you can do quite a lot with ag and st 3 players, but they had starting skills. So choosing vampires as my team was not the most informed choice, especially as they have little starting skills. This was the push to get me online.Ĭhoosing vampires: one thing I harshly learned was that playing the a.i for a year does not account for experience. At the same time I was enjoying following this forums, and then Narly bird proposed the crunch cup II. After a year, this was becoming a real unfulfilling experience. However I waited with baited breath for the arrival of L.E, and when i finally got, I realized playing against the a.i, was like playing the same person playing the same tactic no matter what team was. I was quite reluctant to take part online, as I felt if I played multiplayer I would get too involved and my other responsibilities like studies would falter. The reason why there was so many practice teams as After my teams got to about 1300 tv, it was much harder to find games, so it easier just to create new ones. The Face biters 2 (Nag) 0,0,1 deleted (I was playing too many vampire teams) The Face biters (nag) 0,9,1 deleted after a shameful conceding match The Squishy gimp finished last in division 2, with 6 losses and 1 drawĪ special mention to their practice teams, all on the open leagues. This maybe considered redundant as we’re well into crunch cup 3, but life got in the way, after stated this, and it seemed a shame not to share this. ![]() Apologies as I will probably be repeating myself from previous threads, and maybe paraphrasing what other people have said but having come to similar conclusions. their subsequent vampire practice teams, and my introduction to online playing for blood bowl. ![]() This is a review of playing vampires in the crunch cup league. The wooden spoon of Crunch Cup division II.
